This PDT light therapy machine combines photon therapy with EMS microcurrent. PDT is a two-stage therapy that uses special drugs (photosensitizers) along with light to kill cancer cells. Combine light energy with drugs that only work when activated by a certain light. PDT may also be called photon radiotherapy, phototherapy, or photochemotherapy. Depending on the treatment site, photosensitizers are either injected into the bloodstream through a vein or applied to the skin. Over a certain period, the drug is absorbed by the cancer cells. Light is then directed to the treatment area. The light makes the drug react to become a unique kind of oxygen molecule that kills the cell.
